In the morning we'll meet up with Anna Lappe and Bryant Terry (co-authors of the book Grub) at the Grand Lake Farmers Market in Oakland. In the afternoon we'll visit City Slicker Farms and in the evening we'll join Slow Food for a picnic dinner in Tilden Park followed by dessert at Mission Pie Store in the Mission District.

8/05 Chico, CA Hosted by Food & Water Watch and Slow Food Shasta Cascade.
Join us for a screening of Eat at Bill's - Life in the Monterey Market and a post film reception at the Chico Women's Club.

8/6 Ashland, OR Hosted by Friends of Family Farmers.
We'll visit Chico U's organic dairy program in the morning followed by lunch at Grilla Bites.  In the evening we'll meet local sustainable food groups for dinner in Ashland at Standing Stone Restaurant.

8/7 Ashland, OR  Hosted by Friends of Family Farmers, THRIVE and Ashland Growers Market.
We'll spend the morning at the Ashland Growers Market tabling and officiating an Iron Chef pie making contest.  In the afternoon we'll visit Pennington Farms and Full Circle Bison ranch.  We'll end the day with a potluck dinner at Siskiyou Crest Dairy.

8/08 Eugene, OR
On our way to Eugene we’ll visit Rogue Creamery and Dairy.  In the evening we'll join the singing duo, The Ditty Bops, at WOW Hall, tabling at their unique farmers market and officiating a pie eating contest live on stage.

8/09 Portland, OR
On our way to Portland we’ll stop in Corvalis for lunch at Solstice Café and a tour of the Solstice Goji Bar “factory.”  We'll end the day visiting Ancient Heritage Dairy in Scio and breaking bread with local farmers at Ayers Creek Farm in Gaston.

8/10 Portland, OR
Local restaurateur, Chef Greg Higgins, will take us on a guided tour of Sustainable Portland.  Stops include: Breakfast and tour at Bob’s Red Mill, lunch at Zenger Farms, a tour of Growing Gardens’ urban gardens and a tour of Clear Creek Distillery.  In the evening we'll join Plate and Pitchfork at their summer farm dinners on Sauvie Island Organic Farm.  We’ll end the day at a screening of The Real Dirt on Farmer John at the Hollywood Theater followed by a celebration of Farmer John and all of Portland’s farmers at Moon and Sixpence Pub.

8/11 Pasco, WA
In the morning we’ll be tabling with Hot Lips Pizza at the Portland Farmers Market at PSU.

8/12 Colton, WA
We’ll tour the Eaton Natural Beef Ranch, enjoy a BBQ and officiate a pie-baking contest. Participating organizations include: North-Central Idaho Food Sustainability Collaborative, Rural Roots, Eaton Natural Beef, Moscow Food Co-op, University of Idaho Extension and the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute.

Our hosts are organizing a public carnival to celebrate pie, dubbed “Pie in the Sky.”  The party starts at 6 pm at Liberty Lake Pavillion Park.  Co-hosts and supporters include WSU Spokane County Extension, Slow Food Spokane River, Liberty Lake Farmer's Market, Greenstone Corporation, City of Liberty Lake.

We'll celebrate the summer at the Summermoon Farm Party at PEAS Farm.  This benefit for Garden City Harvest will feature farm fresh food & BBQ, music and live performances.  Hosted by Grow Montana, Garden City Harvest, Community and Food Agriculture Coalition.

We’ll start the day with breakfast with Laramie university students and a visit to their student farm project. In the afternoon, we'll head to Cheyenne for a public lunch at The Plains Hotel's Capitol Grill and then on to Yoder for a tour of Meadow Maid Farms

8/22 Lincoln, NE Hosted by Nebraska Environmental Action Coalition and Slow Food.
In the morning, we'll meet with farmers in Osceola to share stories about pie.  On our way into Lincoln we’ll tour Common Good Farm and Branched Oak Farm.  In the evening, Maggie’s Café will host a pie potluck dinner and show Living with the Land - a film made by a local
filmmaker for the Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society.

8/23 Kansas City, MO/Lawrence, KS Hosted by Kansas City Food Circle, Local Burger, Films for Action.
The Sundance Channel’s Simran Sethi will speak at our lunch-time gathering at Blue Bird Bistro in Kansas City.  On our drive to Lawrence we’ll visit the Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture and the M&J Ranch.  At 7 pm we’ve got a date (with Simran Sethi) for dinner and a movie at Liberty Hall.  Chow down on local fare while watching Rural Route Film Festival’s Go Organic!

8/24 Lawrence, KS/Minneapolis, MN 
We’ll spend the morning taping an episode of Jayni’s Kitchen, Jayni Carey's weekly cooking show which airs on Sunflower Broadband's Channel 6 in Lawrence, Eudora and Tonganoxie, Kansas as well as state-wide in Kansas on Cox Cable. After the taping we'll do some driving and then end the day picnicking with Paul Willis and the Animal Welfare Institute at Niman Ranch.

8/25 Minneapolis, MN Hosted by Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy.
We'll join the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy at the Mill City Farmers Market.  Activities will include a tour of the market guided by an area chef and an Iron Chef cooking contest.  Later on we'll visit the Sustainable Stage in the Eco Experience at the Minnesota State Fair.

We'll man a table at the Green City Market, tour the Edible Gardens at the Lincoln Park Zoo and end the day with a summer celebration of sustainability at Crust, the only USDA organic certified restaurant in the midwest. Dinner and appetizers will be served, followed by a pie buffet by Bleeding Heart Bakery. Speakers will include Ken Dunn (Director of City Farm), Michael Altenberg (Owner of Crust), and Jenna Rose (of A Fresh Squeeze). Music by Guy King and Paul Kogut.

We’ll have lunch at Zingerman's Deli followed by a tour of Ann Arbor farmer's market, the People's Food Co-op, Eve, Growing Hope community gardens and the Agrarian Adventure school garden project.  At 7 pm all local Pie Lovers Unite for a pie festival at the Ypsilanti Women's Literary Club.
