Monday, 1st September 2008 Slow Food Nation's Come to the Table Dinner, Marketplace and the Victory Garden - all at the Civic Center Plaza, San Francisco. 9 Beers, 9 Cheeses, Happy People Monday, 1st September 2008 American Artisan Cheeses and Microbrews was one of the 24 taste workshops held at Slow Food Nation over Labor Day weekend 2008 Sustainable Walmart - what??? Monday, 30th June 2008 Comments on a panel discussion from LOHAS... Simran Sethi (sustainability journalist), Rand Waddoups (Wal-Mart) & Michael Besancon (Whole Foods Market). LOHAS, Boulder & Sustainable Restaurants Thursday, 26th June 2008 Attending the LOHAS conference gave us a chance to sample some of the tasty sustainable food in Boulder. Day 7 – The Merc, Lawrence, Kansas Tuesday, 24th June 2008 Before driving through the state of Kansas, we stopped off at the Community Mercantile sustainable store in Lawrence, Kansas. Through Kansas to our final destination Friday, 20th June 2008 Today we made it to Boulder! On our way we stopped at the largest heritage turkey farm in Colorado, just outside of Denver. Day 7 – The road to Colorado.... Thursday, 19th June 2008 Today we woke up just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, and started our trek across the state and through Kansas. Tuesday, 18th December 2007 The Eat Well Guided Tour of America Awards have just been announced - see who came at the top of their category! End of the Year - Tour Wrap Up Tuesday, 18th December 2007 Read our end of the year tour wrap-up! Farm Aid – and end of the tour! Sunday, 9th September 2007 The last day of the tour spent at Farm Aid on Randall’s Island with Willie, Neil, John and Dave. We had a table with many other sustainable organizations and lots of local food to eat. A great end to an amazing tour.
Homegrown Festival in Union Square- NYC, NY Saturday, 8th September 2007 In conjunction with the regular Farmers Market on Saturday in Union Square (NYC), Farm Aid gathered quite a few sustainable, urban organizations and some great music to share with the crowd. The Hudson Valley and Gigi Market Friday, 7th September 2007 Farm Aid joined Sustainable Table to host a live webcast and Harvest BBQ Party in Red Hook. Chefs, farmers and sustainable food advocates gathered to discuss the future and flavor of locally grown, good food. Gigi Market - The Eat Well Guided Tour Hits Home! Friday, 7th September 2007 Between the berry pies, the peach pies, the apple pies, the meringue pies, the tart pies, the tangy pies and the entire-garden-on-a-pie pies there was nothing missing from our finale event at Greig Farm in Red Hook (or, at least my stomach didn't think so)! Glynwood Center – Cold Spring, NY Thursday, 6th September 2007 Located in Cold Spring, NY- the Glynwood Center delves into economic development and land conservation. They even have their own organic farm (and a growing CSA membership), which we toured. Green Tomato Pie - and almost goodbye! Wednesday, 5th September 2007 An amazing Green Tomato Pie recipe from Amanda Kimble-Evans. Lazy Crazy Acres – Arkville, NY Wednesday, 5th September 2007 Innovative manure management and ice cream at the Lazy Crazy Acres dairy farm in Arkville, NY. They also use rotational grazing to feed their 40 happy cows- “let them eat grass!” Tait Farm – Centre Hall, PA Tuesday, 4th September 2007 Not only where we learned why people are afraid of okra, but also an organic vegetable farm with a 160 member CSA and a farm store located in Centre Hall, PA. Boalsburg Farmers Market – Boalsburg, PA Tuesday, 4th September 2007 Paul Robeson, Jane Flammee and Aunt Lizzie- not people we met, but tomatoes we tasted at the “Heirloom by the Hour” contest at the Boalsburg Farmers Market. Organic Bliss Deli and Bakery, Toledo, OH Sunday, 2nd September 2007 A stop in the “fast food capital” of the nation, Toledo, OH, unexpectedly delivers a welcoming sustainable feast for the Eat Well Guided Tour of America. Pie Lovers Unite! – Ypsilanti, Michigan Saturday, 1st September 2007 Pie Lovers Unite!
