Sustainable Table Recipes: Peanut Butter French Toast

Description:
Preparation + cook time = 15 min.

Ingredients:
4 slices bread (your choice, white, wheat, potato)
4 Tbl peanut butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar
1 Tbl butter

Special Equipment:
Knife
Fork
Wide, shallow bowl
Frying pan

Directions:
1) Spread peanut butter on two slices of bread and layer the other slices on top, making two peanut butter sandwiches.

2) Begin heating frying pan over medium high heat or over coals.

3) In shallow bowl, whisk egg with fork and dip sandwich on both sides.

4) Add butter to frying pan, once melted, cook sandwich 3-4 minutes each side, careful not to burn bread.

5) Remove from heat and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Serve with fresh strawberries, syrup, applesauce, bananas, or other sliced fresh fruit.
