- The Eat
Well Guide is a free online directory of nearly 9,000 farms,
stores, restaurants, bed & breakfasts, and other outlets
that offer sustainably raised meat, poultry, dairy and egg
products in the United States and Canada. Consumers search
by zip code, product, growing method or region at www.eatwellguide.org to find the nearest wholesome food.
- Over 15 million people have watched The
Meatrix – find out why at www.themeatrix.com
- Moopheus, Leo and Chickity are back in The Meatrix
II: Revolting, the sequel to the Webby-award winning Meatrix.
This time, they battle corporate agents as they try to save
small, family farms. Watch the movie at www.themeatrix2.com.
- The original Meatrix changed the way we
look at meat. The
Meatrix II ½ will make you think even more. www.moremeatrix.com

the film as a way to try to get your or your child’s

We can provide you with a copy of the film, as well as with materials and handouts to put
on your table. Email leo@themeatrix.com with your request for a DVD or downloading instructions, and
please remember the following guidelines whenever you show the
film:
The entire film must be shown and credit must be given to Sustainable
Table (www.sustainabletable.org)
and Free Range Studios (www.freerangestudios.com),
complete with web addresses. The Meatrix may not be incorporated
into any other films or multi-media presentations without written
consent, but it can be shown in its entirety before or after
other presentations.
Get your
local theater to show The Meatrix
One of the most effective ways to get word out about The
Meatrix is to have it shown in your local movie theater.
Your best bet is to check with local, independent movie theaters
in your area, but it can’t hurt to ask at the larger ones
also.
- Contact the theater manager and ask if
they would show the film or trailer as a public service announcement (PSA) before the main movies.
Mention that the film was made by a nonprofit organization.
We can send you some Sustainable
Table brochures and other information if you think that
would help.
- If the theater first requests a viewing/screening
copy, contact us. We’ll send you a DVD and information
packet that you can leave with the theater manager.
- If the theater is interested, find out
what viewing format they can use (DVD, beta, mini-DV, etc)
– Please email leo@themeatrix.com to let us know what you need and when you need it. Please
include your mailing address.
- Ask the theater if you can put out postcards
and perhaps hang some posters (even if they are not able to
show the film).
- Don’t rule out local film festivals
and film events that might be shown in people’s homes,
coffee shops, or local public places. See if your library
has any type of movie night. Many universities have film viewings
on campus.
- If you get The Meatrix into a
theater, we’ll send you a Meatrix coffee mug for your
efforts! And don’t forget, you can receive points for
getting the film shown in a theater!

Write an
article
Most local papers look for interesting articles. Find out how
industrial farming or sustainable food ties into your community
and write about it. Even if you don’t have a factory farm
nearby, you could write about how consumers are impacted by
industrial food production. Or write about your local farmers
market. Put links to our sites in your piece. If you get an
article printed, please send us a copy!
Go to the Issues section for information
and ideas.
