Common Ground Country Fair – Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, Unity, ME
The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) will transform its year-round educational center in Unity, Maine into the Common Ground Country Fair, a celebration of rural, sustainable living. Make connections with organic farmers and vendors of Maine crafts, agricultural and environmentally friendly products; sample organic foods featuring Maine grown ingredients; listen and watch performers, livestock demonstrations, horse shows, a donkey & mule show or participate in a manure toss competition. Pennsylvania Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Festival – Berks County, PA
A two-day festival about renewable energy, natural building construction, sustainable agriculture, land-use planning, forestry and healthy living practices in general. The festival will feature speakers, national exhibitors, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, vendors, live music and entertainment, children's activities, food and more. Sept. 23rd - 24th.
World Championship Punkin Chunkin - Millsboro, DE
At the intersection of routes 305 and 306 in downstate rural Delaware, the annual pumpkin chunkin contest will again take place in a cornfield. Started in 1986 with only a few participants, the winning pumpkin was chunked 126 feet. Last year, over 20,000 people watched the winner fire his gourd out of a cannon for over 4000 feet! Among the events this year will be a chili and pumpkin cookoff contest with music by the Charlie Daniels band. Nov. 4th - 6th.

Duluth Harvest Festival - Duluth, MN
The Sustainable Farming Association of Northeastern Minnesota presents the 12th free Harvest Festival at Bayfront Festival Park. The Harvest Festival showcases the agriculture of northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, promoting local food production as a key component of a healthier economy and environment and healthier communities. A day-long, family oriented outdoor event, the Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year to feast on locally produced food and enjoy the farmer's market, crafters, educational demonstrations, livestock, 4-H and other exhibits, youth activities, live music and more!
