Potomac River Fish Plagued by Confusion

Scientists studying fish in the Potomac River have discovered a new trend among male bass: pregnancy.
It seems that these male fish are developing female sexual characteristics as a result of exposure to high levels of contaminants that effect the fish's hormone development, resulting in the appearance of eggs in the sexual organs of males.
Scientists are unsure about where, exactly, the hormone-altering pollutants in the Potomac are coming from, but do suspect that pesticide and manure runoff from farms may be responsible.
The bass assured reporters that they are huge fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1994 hit "Junior," but admitted that they are uncomfortable with the idea of male pregnancy, and - if given the choice - would prefer to not be developing female sexual characteristics.
The bass community plans to issue a formal statement to be presented to the USDA, requesting that chemical runoff from farms and other sources be more carefully monitored in order to prevent future confusion (and severe developmental deformity).
