I would go to the local farmers markets in my community, but it is not run by and for farmers, and all produce is brought in from places as far away as China. Who really wants Chinese garlic in the light of the recent issues with everything Chinese. No one can explain to me why Florida, which is majorly agricultural can't provide real farmers for real farmers markets.
We do our best by buying certified organics from our local grocery store, and drive approximately 60 miles each way to Whole Foods once a month or so to get sustainably raised meats.

The very best way to do something NOW is to get to your local farmers market ASAP. The more support we give to local farmers, the more locally produced food they will be able to supply for us.

A visit to your farmers market is not only a shopping experience, it is a learning experience. Talk to the farmers, ask them about what they are selling, buy a vegetable that was picked that morning, or buy some eggs that were layed in the last 24 hours!

Vote with your fork and with your $$$'s for wholesome, healthy food.
