If you find yourself out in beautiful Telluride, CO on May 22nd to the 25th, be sure to check out Mountainfilm; their topic this year is food, sustainability and feeding the growing population. In fact, the event alone might be enough to make you plan a trip! Mountainfilm is a festival that was created to educate people about “issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving and conversations worth sustaining”.Over the course of four days, Mountainfilm, will screen movies such as “Food, Inc”, which details the ills of our modern food system, and “The Garden”, an Academy Award nominated film about a fourteen-acre community garden in the heart of L.A. They will also have a farmers market, food displays, an ice cream social and picnic.
Some fabulous speakers will also be attending and sharing their thoughts on the global food situation at the Moving Mountains Food Symposium on the 22nd. Participants include the well known chef and educator Dan Barber, chef and restaurateur Ming Tsai, the amazing documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, and keynote speaker, environmentalist and writer Bill McKibben.
