Happy Inauguration!
January 23rd, 2009 No CommentsThe news from Washington D.C. is optimistic today. A new president, a new start, and new ideas to promote sustainable agriculture. Congratulations President Obama! We are excited to see where we go from here.
Sustainability has been an important part of this inauguration, with more than one “green” inaugural ball happening this evening and our friends at Heritage Foods USA providing their fabulous sustainable meat for a few of the dinners too.
Their meat will be starring at:
Ancient White Park ground beef from Leaping Waters Farm in Shawsville, Virginia and Six Spotted Berkshire baby back ribs from Newman Farm in Myrtle, Missouri for the Dressing Room’s Chef Michel Nichan dinner.
Piedmontese short ribs from Montana Ranch in Billings, Montana, Angus sirloin steak from Hearst Ranch in
San Simeon, California and Ancient White Park sirloin steak from Leaping Waters Farm in Shawsville, Virginia for Tabla’s Chef Floyd Cardoz dinner.Tamworth pig leaf lard and Berkshire Heritage “Surryano” ham from Sam Edwards’ Virginia Traditions in Surry, Virginia for Watershed’s Chef Scott Peacock dinner.
Berkshire Heritage “Surryano” ham from Sam Edwards’ Virginia Traditions in Surry, Virginia for Chez Panisse’s Chef Alice Waters dinner.
Anyone can get their hands on the delicious Heritage Farms USA products here.
After this night of festivities, we will be looking forward to hearing from Cristeta Comerford. She was the Bush’s chef and will be staying on to feed the Obama’s. It’s been rumored that she has been cooking up organic food since she started in 2005. We hope to hear more about her soon.
