Bryant Terry, co-author of GRUB, is sharing his views and some recipes – “Bryant Terry’s Eco Soul Kitchen” at TheRoot.com.

He makes such a wonderful point about the holidays, “So I won’t be offering ideas for this Sunday’s dinner. If you can consider ways to include local, seasonal, and sustainably raised foods and health-supportive cooking techniques into your meal, do it. If not, do your thing. Celebrating with family, friends, and community on special occasions is much more important then obsessing over nutrients and micronutrients.” And I totally agree! It’s not always easy to influence your family to sustainable healthy cooking and on the holidays, impossible. So don’t fight it, just enjoy!

He does offer up recipes for a wonderful Rebirth Brunch- for this Sunday, or maybe Saturday, or just sometime in the future.

Check out these YUMMY looking recipes: Johnny Blaze Cakes, Cajun-Creole-Spiced Asparagus Frittata, Hopin’ Jean, and Potato and Sweet Potato Pancakes
