The Weekly Pick – Farmed Animal Watch
February 27th, 2008 No CommentsFarmed Animal Watch – “objective information for the thinking advocate” is an informative weekly digest of the most important “farmed animal issues gleaned from an array of academic, industry, advocacy and mainstream media sources.” If you are trying to keep up on the issues around farmed animals, and you don’t have time to search the web for stories everyday, this is a smart resource.
This weekly comes from FarmedAnimal.net which “is an online collection of links, publications, research reports, news items, events, and contacts relating to the welfare of farmed animals. Most of the information is organized by topic and source in our “Information Index.” Again, a wonderful resource of information.
The issue I received this week covered the beef recall from different perspectives and they link to articles from many publications. The topics this week were:
- 143,383,823 POUNDS
- HEALTH CONCERNS & TRADE TROUBLE
- THE ACCUSED
- INSPECTION CRITICIZED
- BLAME AND PREVIOUS ABUSE
- CONGRESSIONAL ACTION
- “DOREEN THE DOWNER”
Check out their weekly archives too.
