The Weekly Pick–Amelia Saltsman
July 18th, 2007 No Comments
This week’s pick, Amelia Saltsman, is a television host, cooking teacher, and writer. Her articles have been published in the LA Times, National Geographic Traveler, and others. But perhaps her most exciting literary venture is her new book, The Santa Monica Farmers’ Market Cookbook, which comes out August 1 and is already getting rave reviews. Alice Waters of Chez Panisse called it “an amazing resource to have with you, a complete season-by-season handbook to guide you through the bounty of the market.” You can order this culinary/literary gem from Blenheim Press. Amelia will be signing copies of her new book at the kickoff event of our Eat Well Guided Tour of America at King’s Road Park in West Hollywood on August 2.Amelia is a Southern California native and a real advocate for local, sustainable food producers (and eaters!). Host and producer of “Fresh from the Farmers’ Market,” Amelia shows viewers how to shop for and cook fresh local ingredients. She frequently features farmers from the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market on her show.
