The Weekly Pick

This week’s pick is the Fast Food Nation DVD, which went on sale nationwide yesterday. The film, which was not exactly a box office bonanza, did receive rave reviews. The New York Times called it “the most important political film from an American director since Michael Moore’s ‘Farenheit 9/11′.”

The film, directed by Richard Linklater, boasts an all-star ensemble cast that includes Kris Kristofferson, Wilmer Valderrama, Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette and Esai Morales. The fictional drama is based on the content of the best-selling non-fictional book of the same name, written by Eric Schlosser.
