February 8th, 2007 No CommentsNebraska’s #10 Organic Ranking at Risk North Platte Bulletin US District Court ruled late last month that Nebraska can’t enforce Initiative 300, which bars corporations from farming in the Cornhusker state, unless the corporations are family-owned and at least one family member works there.
Angry Cows March on Washington Digital 50 In a demonstration that brings back memories of Food & Water Watch’s Starbuck’s Call-in Day, over 100 activists dressed as cows protested in Washington yesterday to bring attention to cloning issues while the FDA is still in “comment period”. Among the bovine-costumed protesters were folks from Ben & Jerry’s, the Consumer Federation of America, and the National Farmers Union. (Food & Water Watch also has a “No Food From Cloned Animals” email campaign going, in case you couldn’t make it to Washington)
