Food Bill Would Tie Up Cloning Loophole
February 13th, 2007 No CommentsUS Senators Patrick Leahy and Herb Kohl have introduced a new bill that would “protect the integrity of organic standards” by barring even the offspring of clones from being labeled as organic. Perhaps they heard the cries of the cows who marched in protest last week?
Also, some states, including Massachusetts and California, are taking steps to ensure that food products from clones will be labeled as such. Learn more about cloning and organics in our issue pages.
