    You may have never heard of fried steak before, but you’ll never forget it once you’ve tried it!

    Try cooking this up using some grass-fed steak from your local farm and dress it up with a side of organic mashed potatoes and a seasonal side salad…

    Karen’s Grassfed Fried Steak

    Ingredients:
    2 pounds round steak
    1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    2 tablespoons Seasoned salt (or sea salt mixed with some of your favorite dried herbs)
    1 tablespoons Fresh ground pepper
    Olive Oil (enough to cover the bottom of your frying pan with 1/2 inch of oil)
    1 1/2 to 2 cups organic milk or cream

    Directions:
    Pound the steak (if desired) to tenderize
    Cut into 3-4″ pieces
    Mix flour, seasoned salt and pepper
    Cover the meat with a thick layer of the flour mixture
    Fry the meat in hot olive oil on medium setting until brown and crispy
    Remove and drain the oil on paper towels while you prepare the gravy

    Milk Gravy Directions:
    Pour off most of the oil the from pan leaving only the crisp brownings
    Mix organic milk or cream with 4 tablespoons flour
    Stir this mixture back into the frying pan and cook on low heat until thickened and bubbly

    Pour the gravy over your steak and some fresh mashed potatoes, and enjoy!
