GRACE-CSA2.jpgYesterday was CSA day here in the office!

The bounty included lots of lettuce, beets, garlic scapes, napa cabbage, scallions and pak choi. We traded some ideas on how to cook the pak choi and it was agreed that sauteeing it with the garlic scapes and some butter would work. Of course, that makes just about anything taste good!

Here’s a recipe for Pak choi, prawn and pomegranate salad from the BBC, which sounds like a delicious light summer dish. If you use the prawns, we recommend you don’t eat farm-raised and instead find a source of sustainable pot-caught shrimp.

Most industrial shrimp production is devastating to the environment and human rights. They also tend to be raised in shrimp.jpga chemical cocktail of antibiotics and pesticides – not great eating! You can learn more about this, and some tips for identifying shrimp you will want to eat, through Public Citizen.
