    In the fall, Sustainable Table will be focusing on parenting and sustainable eating for kids. To get a “taste” of some of the issues, take a look at this KFMBTV story about organic baby food and Rondi Prescott, the founder of the successful organic baby food company Healthy Times.

    According to Prescott, babies consume more food per kilogram of body weight than adults, so they are especially vulnerable to chemical or pesticide residue in food. In fact, it was Prescott’s inability to find healthy, natural baby food for her own daughter that gave birth to Healthy Times. Dissatisfied by the preservative and sugar-filled baby food options provided by her local grocery store, Prescott began developing her own natural alternatives. Her recipes soon became a hit with other mothers, and now, twenty five years later, Healthy Times is the only line of organic baby food to be certified by the USDA.
