SXSW, Friday morning, March 18
March 18th, 2005 No CommentsOh, how I long for my apartment in New York and the peace there…. But, having said that, Rebecca and I went two-stepping last night at the Broken Spoke. If you ever get to Austin, for SXSW or not, you have to go to the Broken Spoke. The music is great, the atmosphere is great, and the people are out dancing – two-stepping, mind you – until 2am. Everyone dances with everyone.
Okay, I’ll admit, I didn’t – the ol’ foot injury I mentioned earlier in the week kept me from kicking it up on the dance floor, though Rebecca gave it a whirl with a gentleman in a cowboy hat and boots. I’m confident this will be my musical highlight of the conference – the band was great.
Today is our last showcase – it’s happening at an Indie911 Showcase -they’re an indie promotion company and are going to show The Meatrix during their 5 hour long event. (I don’t think we’re going to last that long…)
And now that I’m getting on in years and have lost a lot of hearing from seeing so many bands, I will be taking ear plugs. And maybe some snacks. Yes, times have changed.
But Rebecca and I have a lot of ideas for The Meatrix and what we’ll be doing with it over the next several months (years?…) After we wrap up here in Texas, we’ll start to outline what we’ll be doing. And hopefully we’ll be able to get some help, opinions, suggestions from anyone interested in sharing ideas with us.
