SXSW, Friday day, March 18
March 19th, 2005 No CommentsWell, the Indie 911 showcase was a success. We met great people, Moopheus schmoozed with bands and fans alike, and we were able to show the film to people who hadn’t seen it before. Moopheus even got up onstage himself to have a little go (he’s a multi-talented animal…).

We got to the venue early to make sure we got the equipment all set up properly. As is usual, we had problems, but Aleen, a volunteer for the day, saved us and figured out how to hook the DVD player up to the TV screen.

After making sure all the technical details were taken care of, Moopheus did a little schmoozing. Here you can see him with Samantha, the lead singer of the opening band.

It was a full day of music, with many bands from Indie 911. Here’s a montage.

The event was hosted by Justin Goldberg – an extremely wonderful person who was extremely excited to have The Meatrix be a part of his show.

We’re hoping to be able to work together again with the people at Indie 911 – it’s refreshing to be around a bunch of people who are really into what they do and who don’t have attitude. (I used to work in the music industry so used to be one of those jaded music people, so it was great to see people not like the way I ended up being!….)
