Do you live in or near New York City? Want to attend an event called “Northeast and Raw Milk Cheese: Back to the Future Discussions & Guided Tasting” hosted by the Baum Forum?

These and other events are always happening in and around New York City, actually in and around cities everywhere in the country and world.

Hilary Baum hosts the Baum Forum, which are lectures and events that focus on sustainable food. (She’s also a totally cool person to boot!) The web site for the event includes “The revival of small scale, traditional cheesemaking that began in the US in the 1980’s has been growing steadily, bringing much needed support to farmers and producers. Can artisanal production sustain the family farm? How are the New York City farmers’ markets, retail and restaurant markets responding? What are the differences in quality and taste between conventional and artisanal production?”jasperweb-cheese0305.jpg

If you have any interest in cheese and good food, these types of events are great to go to. The best part is that there are almost always taste testings!

It’s being held this Saturday from 10-2pm at CUNY 34th St & 5th Ave. Check out the web site for more details.

Oh, and more exciting news – my Aqualung CD arrived today! Am listening to it now…
